Privacy statement according to Art. 13 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Thank you for your interest in participating in the CORA digital maturity check which is part of the EU-sponsored project Interreg North Sea Region and enables municipalities to measure their own progress in several sectors of the Digital Revolution. Herewith we inform you about how and for what purposes we will process your personal data, e.g. if you visit our website or in case we get into contact with you.

Participation in the CORA digital maturity check is voluntary.

2. Personal data processing and purpose of the processing

2.1.               Visiting our website

If you visit our website for participating in the CORA digital maturity check we will process 

-          Date and time of your visit;

-          web browser in use and the operating system of your device and

-          your IP-address.

The processing of these data is required for the technical and functional management of our website and to ensure it is easy to use. The data will also be stored in so called log-files which we will use to provide aggregated and statistical information on the use of our website and to improve the contents of the website to enhance your user experience. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

The stored data in the logfiles do not allow individuals directly to be identified, especially your IP address is picked up in an anonymous form.

2.2. Participation in the CORA digital maturity check

Participation in the CORA digital maturity check is possible via https://survey.aconium.eu/index.php/353541. For the implementation of the CORA digital maturity check we use „LimeSurvey“. 

Participation requires to be registered. For your registration we collect the following data:

-          first and last name;

-          e-mail address and

-          the name of the municipality you are employed by.

The tool „LimeSurvey“ will only be executed as a script on our own technical infrastructure. The script enables us to implement the CORA digital maturity check securely and to evaluate the results. Participation is voluntary and you can interrupt the process at any time and continue later on.

We might contact you for the purpose of inviting you to workshops related to the EU-sponsored project Interreg North Sea Region which address the development of digital infrastructures in rural areas and for further feedback on such workshops.

The survey data will be analyzed in order to derive implications for a better understanding of municipalities’ needs and for needs-based adaptions of the questionnaire. The data may also be transferred to other partners of the EU-sponsored project Interreg North Sea Region but only in an anonymized form. 

The legal basis for the processing of the personal data is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. It is our legitimate interest to provide you the possibility to measure the digitalization progress of your municipality as well as to use the survey data within the project to develop strategies and measures for structural aid. This includes to invite you to participate in free workshops of the Interreg North Sea Region project related to topics of structural aid.

2.3.               Storage of personal data

We will process your personal data only as long as it is necessary for the indicated purposes. At the latest, we will erase your data at the end of the Interreg North Sea Project (31.03.2023), unless you have signaled us that you want to stay in contact with us, e.g. to make use of our advisory services. Log files will be stored for 30 days and then deleted.

3. Cookies

We use cookies whenever you interact with our website. Cookies are small files that are sent along with this website and placed on your devices by your browser. Each time you visit this website, the browser searches for cookies and sends the available information stored therein to our servers of this website. The main purpose of the cookies we use is to make our services as fast and user friendly as possible. Cookies are used especially for the purpose of 

• load distribution;
• storing entries entered into a form field and
• to memorize that information that has been placed on our website has been shown to you in order to ensure that information is not shown to you repeatedly.

The legal basis for using such cookies is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

4. Transfer of your personal data

A transfer of your personal data within the Interreg North Sea Project or other third parties will not take place, unless:

• you have provided your informed consent;
• the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that these legitimate interests are overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms which require protection of personal data or
• the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation which requires processing by Union or Member State law to which the controller is subject to.

We may also use service providers, e.g. data centers that store our website and databases; IT-service providers that maintain our systems; as well as consulting companies. Provided that we transfer personal data to service providers, those are only allowed to process the data for the fulfillment of their tasks. Service providers are carefully chosen by us. They are bound contractually to our instructions and to implement technical and organizational measures in order to achieve an appropriate level of data protection and will be carefully controlled.

5. Your rights

You are entitled to obtain access to your personal data according to Art. 15 GDPR. We will provide you with a list of all your personal data. 

You also have the right to rectify inaccurate personal data and you have the right to have incomplete data to be completed (Art. 16 GDPR). 

Your right to obtain the erasure of your personal data without undue delay is regulated in Art. 17 GDPR.

Art. 18 GDPR provides you the right to restrict the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances.

You also have the right to data portability in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR. On request, we will accordingly provide you with a digital copy of your personal data.

Your right to object to processing of your personal data is regulated in Art. 21 GDPR. 

In case the processing of your personal data is based on your informed consent you are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. The lawfulness of the processing of your personal data prior to the withdrawal will not be affected by the withdrawal (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of personal data relating to you infringes the GDPR.
